CALL FOR ENROLLMENT FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDY PROGRAMMES

For the enrollment in postgraduate study programmes in the academic year 2016/2017 the University of Primorska is issuing a call for enrollment for the following study programme at the UP Faculty of the Built Environment:

UP Faculty of the Built Environment is issuing a call for enrollment for the postgraduate study programme Sustainable Built Environment.

Name of the programme: Sustainable Built Environment

Type of programme: Master's, 2nd bologna cycle

Duration: 2 years, 120 credits (ects)

Mode of Study: Full-time, Part-time

Location: Koper

1st Year Admission requirements:

The candidate must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Have completed a first cycle study programme in the field of civil engineering or wood science
  2. Have completed a professional study programme (recognized prior to 11 June 2004) in the field of civil engineering or wood science
  3. Have completed a study programme in other professional fields that is equal to the study programmes mentioned under a) and b) in terms of duration and credit points on condition that the candidate completes additional examinations in subjects, essential for continuing studies (up to 30 ECTS) and the content and credit points of which depend on the study programme the candidate has already completed. Additional study obligations are assigned to the student by a special UP FGO commission
  4. Admission requirements are met by candidates who completed an equal study abroad programme

In case of enrolment restrictions, candidates will be selected on the basis of grade point average of the undergraduate study programme, which also includes the diploma thesis.

Application procedures and deadlines

The candidate for enrolment in the postgraduate study programme at UP FGO must file their electronic application on the eVŠ web portal: http://portal.evs.gov.si/prijava/. The application period will be from 9 May 2016 through 15 September 2016.

  1. If the candidate is applying using a qualified digital certificate, the candidate must:
    1. Complete and file their application with an electronic signature by 15 September 2016.
    2. Send any attachments linked to their application by registered mail to the Faculty’s address. These attachments must include the application reference number and be sent by 17 September 2016.
  2. If the candidate is applying using a username and password, they must:
    1. Complete and file their application by 15 September 2016
    2. Print and sign the application with required certificates (attachments)
    3. Send the application by registered mail or deliver it personally to the Faculty’s address by 17 September 2016.

Evidence of fulfillment of the admission requirements

For admission in the 1st year of the postgraduate study programme candidates must submit the following certificates:

  1. The final certificate of the completed study programme
  2. Transcripts from the previous study including the candidate’s average grade point

Candidates who apply for study places reserved for dual degree must enclose the following documents with their application:

  1. Transcripts from their parent faculty in which the candidate is already enrolled in, including the candidate’s average grade point
  2. Agreement by the parent faculty that the candidate is already enrolled

Information for candidates who have completed study abroad programmes

The postgraduate study programme at UP FGO allows enrollment of candidates who completed an equal study programme abroad and were, in accordance with the Act on Recognition and Assessment of Education, granted the right to continue studying in the individual study programme through the process of recognition of foreign education.

While applying for the selected study programme, the candidate must ask for recognition of foreign education in the application on the web portal eVŠ: http://portal.evs.gov.si/prijava/. Requirements are listed below.

Evidence for recognition of foreign education

The candidates must enclose the following attachments with their application:

  1. The final certificate of the completed study programme (original of the certificate or a notarized copy)
  2. A Slovenian translation of the final certificate/diploma (a notarized Slovenian translation of the certificate from point a. In case the certificate/diploma is issued in English, Italian or Croatian language the translation is not required)
  3. The transcript of records for the previous study (original attachment to the certificate/diploma or the original transcript of records, with the data on the candidate’s average grade)
  4. A Slovenian translation of the transcript of records for the previous study (a notarized Slovenian translation of the transcript for point c. In case the certificate/diploma is issued in English, Italian or Croatian language the translation is not required)
  5. A chronological description of the entire process of education (a short chronological description of the entire process of education in Slovenian, English, Italian or Croatian, prepared and signed by the holder of the certificate/diploma or his/her legal representative)
  6. Attachments stamped by the institution where the candidate completed the undergraduate studies *Not-Required

The original of the final certificate/diploma must be legitimate based on:

  • the Hague Convention of 1961 (on the court of local jurisdiction where the certificate was issued); the Apostille stamp/form must be filled out correctly,
  • the Act on Verification of Documents in International Traffic.
